Oops!

I moved around my pictures in photobucket and it deleted the link to the pictures on my blog!!! I definitely learned my lesson on that one. I will be posting all of my finished projects on virgiefinishedprojects.blogspot.com incase anyone would like to see something that is no longer here! I tried fixing the links, but it isn't allowing me to, so I will just have a funny looking blog for a while!!

Jennifer's Scarf!

This is my second knitting project. I started it last night. It is a drop stitch scarf that I am knitting for my friend Jennifer. I can't remember the name of the yarn, but I will look it up and post it when I finish the project. A lot of people said that I should not use any novelty yarn so soon, but I haven't had any problems with it yet and I am almost halfway done (I have done more since these pictures). I think I find the yarn easy to work with b/c it is an easy pattern. I am probably going to eat my words when I do another project with novelty yarn!!

This is a close up so you can see the drop stitch. I haven't stretched them out too much yet, so it may look a little uneven.

Here is a picture of the whole thing so far. It is incredibly soft!!! Jennifer is a freak for green and her favorite shade of green is lime. The yarn actually has a lot more yellow in it then this picture gives it credit for. I think it may be the lighting.

I finished my chairs!!!!  Here they are, nice and green!  I sanded and finished the wood last week (the would stain is antique walnut) and I covered them Sunday and Monday.

I am so impressed with the way they turned out!!!  I knew it wouldn't be hard, but I am still glad that they look good!!

After less then a week, I have finished my first knitting project!  It is a scarf if you cannot tell.  I feel brave and I am moving on to bigger and badder knitting projects.  Next I am using a drop stitch pattern for a scarf.  Hopefully it turns out well.  Knitting is a lot easier and funner then I thought!!!!

Here it is!  My very first knitting project!!!  I am making myself a scarf.  I am soo excited!!

I am using size 10.5 needles and it is 20 stitches across.  This picture was taken on Friday so it is a little out dated.  Right now I am already half way done!!!

My chairs are almost finished!!!  I have already sanded and refinished the wood.  They look so beautiful!  I covered both seats and the back cushion of one chair, but I still have to put the back cushion on the other and the trim on both.  I should finish them tonight, so expect pictures tomorrow!!  I am so excited at how they have turned out.

My grandmother is an experienced sewer and she just finished a slip cover for my aunt.  I can't wait to see the pictures from it and, if I get her permission, I plan on posting them here on my blog.  I know it wasn't my project, but I am very proud of her!!!

Now I knit too!!

I have been sewing for years, but I have decided that now I am going to take up knitting too! Tomorrow I am buying my first needles and yarn. There are so many projects I want to start! I can't get too ahead of myself, but I am definitely excited:) I am not giving up on sewing though. I still have a few things that I need to finish and a few things that I need to start. With my boyfriend and I moving at the end of Sept., it will be difficult to keep up with it all, but I will!

This weekend was a busy weekend. I worked on my chairs when I could. So far I have one sanded. Hopefully by this weekend I will have them both sanded and stained.

This is the suede that I am covering the chairs with.

This is a project that I worked on. If you can't tell, my livingroom is a total square! I just like the look of squares!

Here are my curtains!! I sewed them a few months ago, but I just decorated them last week. The ugly brown thing to the side is an attempt at a shade. I hate it, so it will not make it to the apartment next month.

This is my latest project.  I am recovering two chairs to go in my new appartment.  They were originally my grandparents and they were in an office.  Now, close to 25 years later, they are still going strong.  I am recovering them with hunter green suede.  They will match the rug and other stuff in my house.  Tom. I will post the pictures of the curtains that I just finished!!
